Andy Reid had a great line in the locker room after a narrow win over Detroit. I just saw it, and it killed me. Lol He said, “Not all of Mozart’s paintings were perfect.” Although I’m certain he knew exactly what he said, I’d like to pretend he did think Mozart was a painter.

It showed up in my Yahoo news email this morning. Sounds like it was pretty exciting. I’ll have to check it out sometime soon!

Tampa Bay's XFL team looks like their logo and color scheme were designed by children.
Edit: Some of these guys are doing a great job showing why they aren't playing in the NFL.

Also as a day one fan of the Vipers, I think it's time we get a new QB. Murray is awful.

So I saw a bit of footage from each XFL game... I was hoping to find a team to root for. Not quite feeling it, but maybe the NY Guardians are the closest to feeling like a solid team to me.
Gotta say though, some of these plays are absolutely awful. And the play callers trying to find something else to talk about sometimes at embarrassing moments is hilarious. But this is cringeworthy football at times for me. I am gonna try to keep watching because it gives me something new to check out, but I’m having very mixed feelings. Omg, that punt that almost stayed at the 1 yard line, and that dumbass ran out to get the ball...blew my mind. lol
NY has some good receivers, it seems. And a decent QB, I think. I was hoping I’d like the Wildcats, since LA is not far from where I used to live, Phoenix. But nope.
And these defenses are anemic as hell!
Some of the rules and procedures changes are interesting, but I’m missing NFL already.
I’m being a bit harsh probably, let’s see next week’s games.

I saw a video pop up on my feed about it. I need to look in to this more. It's a nice way to fill the gap between NFL seasons.

Well, since my last somewhat ranty post about XFL’s first week, I have watched three of the four full games, as opposed to just random collections of footage like highlight reels and stuff on YouTube. Given it was first week, and many of these players have been in football limbo for a while, and the rules and procedures are altered a bit in places, a lot of the fuck ups we saw probably were bound to happen.
What I’ve learned after watching three full games now is that actually the highlight reels sucked. There is some good play action, and I do like some of the changes to the game and communication. I like being able to hear offensive coordinators talk to their team, even if their bizarre coded language means absolutely nothing to me. Lol
Also, I think I’ll call my team the Houston Roughnecks. Why? Because there is a solid defender from my home state of Arkansas who made a huge stop in their game and impressed me, and their quarterback Walker is a solid player. His accuracy is quite good, and it’s awesome to see a QB who can get the ball out as fast as he does. Those defenses don’t have a chance to sack him with how quickly he finds his targets. And here I thought Drew Brees was quick to get the ball out! Hahaha
But yeah, I am sticking around to watch this through. There are some nice players and some good action going on.
Something is like to have happen: the winning team at the end of the season plays against the worst team of the nfl season, and if the xfl team wins, they get placed into the NFL and the NFL team goes into the XFL. That’d be awesome.

I’ve been watching a lot of football games as I’m bored and stir crazy not being able to leave the house for all these days/weeks. It’s a fun way to catch up on games I didn’t get to see but wanted to see.
Now I’m no Dolphins fan, and I might have said this before, but when I see games with Dolphins, I’m seeing hints of major promise for a solid season next year. Especially now that it’s confirmed Fitzpatrick is delaying retirement. He is actually a very solid quarterback, and one of my favorites to watch. And Devante Parker got a massive contract extension. Those two alone have great chemistry on the field for devastating plays. They also have some great running backs. I’m calling it: in this year, the Dolphins are gonna win a lot more of their games. I don’t want to over call it and say they’ll make playoffs, but seeing many of the improvements throughout the season, it wouldn’t surprise me either. Being a team I neither love or hate, I’m curious for the next season for the Dolphins.
Also, I hope the Bills can continue their impressive performances. Defensively, they’re incredible. Offensively they were slow but gradually built up an awesome display with Brown, Singletary, and Beasley making big plays off Allen’s pass and handoffs.
I really miss NFL days. And I’m bored as hell. Never been this into football before. Lol

I recommend watching highlight videos and stuff on YouTube when you're able to (whether on the official NFL page or not).
Stuff like best runs of (insert year), top 100 catches, top 100 plays, etc. I watch stuff like that all the time just to see amazing things haha.

Yeah, I only keep up with the season during its course through those highlight videos NFL uploads o YouTube immediately following game completions. This year was the first time I watched every video! I had a routine of going to work and using my first two prep periods to just drink coffee and watch highlight videos for a while. Lol. Doing it at work is also super convenient when I have the time because the WiFi there has a vpn installed into it, so I don’t need to jump through hoops to access YouTube and google and stuff. I actually hadn’t watched a full game since probably 2014 or so, so actually now that I’m watching full games online from the 2019 season, I’m really just enjoying that because I missed the feel of watching a whole game. I find myself engaged in the commentary, replays of many plays, and trying to pick out players I enjoy watching more through full games than in highlight reels. But you’re absolutely right. Those top videos are awesome. And I need to get back to watching all the mic’d up videos soon too. Those are so fun to me. NFL does great videos. Those highlight videos for XFL are lousy in comparison.

I watched the week 2 game of XFL’s Houston Roughnecks vs St. Louis Battlehawks today. Tomorrow I’ll watch the New York Guardians vs DC Defenders. I chose to watch the Roughnecks game first because they’re my xfl team.
Biggest takeaway? I still think PJ Walker is the best quarterback in the league, and very likely going to get into the NFL in a year or two. He had some real badass passes in this game, and managed to escape sacks in Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson fashion. The dude is super impressive, and probably rivals many NFL quarterbacks. As for the rest of the team? Not much on the running game, but excellent receivers and a decent defense. The game finished a bit too close for comfort, given I don’t like the way the Battlehawks play so I don’t want to see them win, but gladly the Roughnecks pulled off the win again.
Hmm...just a prediction, but I feel like Houston will win the season. I just see a lot of great plays here. I used to think New York was the team to beat, but once I saw PJ Walker and those receivers in action, I changed my mind. Maybe I’ll find faith in New York again after I watch their game tomorrow. Either way, I’m sticking with Houston as my team. Enjoying the XFL now.

The Steelers tried to sign Landry Jones last season because of our QB situation and The XFL said "nope he's under contract
