Music scenes are such an important part of underground music, especially hardcore. It can influence everything about a band from their sound and ethics, all the way to who they tour with. Just look at NYHC, which can be identified almost immediately upon hearing a new band from the area. We all know about the big American music scenes like New York, LA, Boston, Seattle, Portland etc, but I thought it would be cool to take a closer look at some lesser known ones around the country and globe.
As a lot of you guys know, I am from Orange County, California and I have a ton of pride in our music scene. Although there are a lot of shitty people here, we have put out some pretty great punk/alternative/hardcore bands. Maybe you like some!
Rock/Alternative/Punk: The Offspring Death by Stereo Fu Manchu Lit Something Corporate
Hardcore: Atreyu Throwdown Bleeding Through Stick to Your Guns Eighteen Visions Fury Ignite Inside Out (Zach's band before Rage Against the Machine)
let's hear about your scene!

Well, even thought my hometown is a big city in Venezuela, it really is like a small american town. But we have some cool bands. Puah , for example, plays a blend of groove metal/mathcore with some african-venezuelan rhythms. Verminous giving us some good brutal death/grind and our biggest band. Circo Urbano with the funk rock we all love.
Other good venezuelan bands are Zeta
Zardonic (we went to the same school lol)
Curva Sur .

Well I'm from Cleveland so it's not the most distinguished of lists lol. We got Integrity, the new lead singer from Skyharbor is from here, and Mushroomhead. Honestly Mushroomhead is the band that first got me into heavier music and I will defend their early stuff tooth and nail.

Have been living in the city for the past 5 or so years for school but I'll always be a suburbs boy (Portillo's is still ass though). The earliest band I can remember getting into from my area was Monsters, but the scene was really popping towards my later years in high school.
Sworn In Villains/Yuth Forever Barrier Kingmaker
I remember seeing these bands open up shows numerous times and go on to eventually headline these same tiny bars, back when Sworn In were touring in support of Start/End, before Sharkey left Barrier, before Villains got too into noise and being weird.
Even the pop punk bands were pretty tight and found significant exposure, Real Friends and Knuckle Puck being the most prominent.
Not really sure what the State Of The Scene is now, I just know Sworn In is awful.

I'm from Hanover, Germany and sadly the Hanover scene is really small, but we have a few hard bands.
Alternative/Rock/Punk: Twin Red (former Client.)
Hardcore: Angst Statement X Slam Harder Declaimer (my own band, shame on me)
