Ya boy is a social worker. More specifically I work within therapeutic foster care. So I work with kids from like 3 years of age up to 21! Kids come in with lots of trauma. It’s p sad if you dwell on it too much. The kids are generally super awesome and super resilient, so you kinda forget they came from an extremely shitty home and upbringing. It’s been really cool working with kids and watching them progress into model citizens

I work retail. Feeling like a real youngster here, everyone seems to be well into their careers and I'm just grinding making it through college.

I'm not sure if it'll make you feel better, but i'm on my second career at this point. Take my advise: find the thing you love, and don't fuck it up like i did. Life will never be as good again.

I work for a Belgian consultancy agency in China. We help European small and medium-sized enterprises (mostly Belgian) do business in China. We basically do p much everything: business development, website design, social media management, market research, translations, due diligence, strategic and legal advice, sourcing, etc... Because we offer this broad spectrum of services, it's been an interesting experience so far. Naturally, some projects are more interesting that others. Not sure yet if I wanna keep doing this long term (perhaps if I get paid accordingly), but it's a good way to utilize my Chinese language skills, travel around the country and meet some interesting people.

I work in a clean room that applies thin film coatings to precision optics. I've been doing it for nine years and I've had several conversations with work lately regarding my rather basic title, as our engineers and managers frequently consult with me. It's a shame that a lot of companies value bullshit degrees over experience.
I have another job lined up for the middle of 2018 if my ambitions are not on their way to being reached by then I'll have no problems walking out the door. It's a small company with around 25 employees and I know they need me more than I need them so it'll be a fun time.

I work as a vulnerability scan analyst (scan servers and make sure they're patched correctly, so our clients dont get WannaCry'd for example). Its pretty much just compliance stuff. Looking to get into Penetration testing (hehe)(ethical hacking) in the future, but I'm so out of my depth with it at the moment. Shit dude, that's really interesting! I'd love to get into Network Security and Pentesting. I'm an IT consultant at support engineer level atm. Got a Sysadmin education, so I can't wait to get in technically more difficult ranks.

im currently in a 13 month program for becoming a Locomotive Engineer aka "driving" a train for the railroad. 6 months in and it's 10000x than getting a bachelors degree. some guys who use to be lawyers or guys who have phD's and operate trains now that ive worked with say that this training program is harder than passing the BAR or getting their doctorate

Go for it man! I got lucky and ended up in vuln scanning (was in IT audit before that). I'm not that technical so starting in vuln scanning and building up that knowledge has been great prep for pen testing. Just keep pushing yourself and you'll get there, if I can do it, anyone can
