I drive a garbage truck, and work for the city. Decent job, great hours, and 3 day weekends every weekend. Man, I want 3 day weekends!

Manager at a transport company, look after about 50 semis and 50 grown men who act like 4 year olds. Really enjoy it surprisingly, have a great team. pays the bills also, so that's a plus.

im currently in a 13 month program for becoming a Locomotive Engineer aka "driving" a train for the railroad. 6 months in and it's 10000x than getting a bachelors degree. some guys who use to be lawyers or guys who have phD's and operate trains now that ive worked with say that this training program is harder than passing the BAR or getting their doctorate I've had so many jobs, about 5 years ago I worked for a company called Holland out of Chicago. They did automated flashbut railway welding. Basically contracting with Railroad company's (CN, CP, etc) to repair problem tracks with a crew by cutting and welding tracks together with a mobile welding unit. Worked really crazy hours and was away from home for weeks, sometimes months. Anyways, when I read what you were doing it totally brought me back.

I work retail. Feeling like a real youngster here, everyone seems to be well into their careers and I'm just grinding making it through college. Don't feel bad; I'm doing the same thing. Just stay with it and stay strong, brother!

No shame in that. Amen. Every time I feel like Elder Goose, I remind myself that the job I have has allowed me to buy 2 cars throughout the years, it allows me to pay rent for the place I live in, and it has allowed me to pay my way through college, and when I graduate, I won't owe a dime. Our time will come, Elder Goose, we just gotta keep persevering.
