For any of my metal fans out there, has anyone else given the new album Gravebloom a listen? I've been a huge TAS fan since like 2006, and its been interesting to see how their music has changed over the years. They were recently signed to Rise records, which i was kinda on the fence about with their freshmen album on that label. It wasnt bad, but didnt interest me like the previous albums (mainly Wormwood <3). So i wanna get a general consensus of my fellow metal lovers out there about Gravebloom. I've listened to it in its entirety, and im definitely not disappointed.

It's okayish. I listened to it once, not very focused tbh, but it sounded like the majority of their stuff.

It's not very memorable but not bad. You can very easily predict whatever riff is coming up next right around the corner. Was listening to The Dead Walk earlier today, now that's music.

To me it seems early TAS was very hardcore influenced but they progressively sounded more death metal influenced. Gravebloom seems to be a good balance of both influences. However in the grand scheme of things it is still The Acacia Strain so it is nothing ground breaking and still a lot of the same.

I can't argue that The Dead Walk is easily one of their best and my favorite lol. Im still on the fence about the new material. Sounds good, but like you said, pretty predictable. The two albums before this one were the same way for me.

The Dead Walk is pretty good, so is Wormwood, but they will never top 3750. That album was something different. Didn't hear their latest album, but the two previous ones were too damn generic.

I really like it actually - better as background to whatever I'm doing at work or in the garage so I can just turn it up at the parts that really kick. It's one of those albums that's a solid release but can't be overthought or it just stalls out.

Played it back to back to back to back to back since making my original post. The verdict is in.

Pretty mixed feels, it's about on par with Coma Witch. Their whole shtick is always knowing what you're gonna get, kinda like Black Dahlia, but they're getting old and I think they need to switch it up a bit on the next one.

Like a few others have already said, it's not bad, but it's not amazing. Just OK in my opinion. I got bored with it pretty quickly.
