I usually go for IPA or lager. I ain't bigboye enough for stout. Start drinking black lagers if you want a nice entry into the world of stouts and porters. Baba by Uinta, Blackwing by Union and Full Sail's session black lager are some of my favorites. Kostritzer schwarzbier is another fantastic one.

I'll see, honestly I am not that eager to go towards stouts and porters, but if I ever make up my mind about it, I'll follow your advice haha.

Yeah, but that's the thing for me, I don't like this coffee-ish or chocolate-ish taste at all currently. Maybe my taste will evolve over time and I'll grow to enjoy it.

Don't like coffee and choc tastes??? FOR SHAME!! I'm just kidding, you do you...but I find that there are more flavors and more interesting beers in the darker range. Not just all hops and more hops...a lot more variation. But, with that being said, I enjoy light beers a lot as well... Although right now...I'm drinking Backwoods Brewing (Carson, WA) Ridge Run Stout...so, dark beer lol.

A new favorite. Gotta love a Stone beer! I haven't had any imports from there in a long time now. They set up the brewery in Berlin which does all of the core stuff now but all of these specials and one-offs haven't been seen in a while

I live in the Finger Lakes region of NY, so there's lots of wine and craft beer. And it's all good.

They are local here in Southern California, so it's not hard to get any of the special brews haha.

Growing older, Ive honestly lost the taste for IPAs and wandered torwards Coors Banquet. Although, sometimes not cheaper...it does go down a lot like water.
