Trophy Eyes Camp Cope The Chats (best live, I smoked one with Eamon after their show at the Espy lol) Dune Rats Clowns Sticky Fingers (tho they are problematic) Still Woozy (technically 1 person) The Avalanches (one of their members frequently DJ'd at my bfs work in Melbs) The Smith Street Band Tame Impala WAAX Jet (of course) Dead Sea (saw them opening for Slaves UK in Perth, think they're very small still)
i'm genuinely convinced there's not a better place for making music than Australia.

I work with people from both countries being that I am a teacher in an International school, and it seems that NZ’ers and Aussies are not often on the same page...

I work with people from both countries being that I am a teacher in an International school, and it seems that NZ’ers and Aussies are not often on the same page... from what I have come to know they're just joking mostly, there's actually an agreement that any AUS can move to NZ anytime and vice versa so... you can't really tell them apart anyways. Although way more Kiwis go to aus than the other way around, just because the economy there is way better. Mentality is pretty similar in most places, but if you compare Outback Queensland Bogans (aus equivalent of Us "Rednecks" (sorry)) to Wellington NZers of course they're gonna be pretty different... Overall tho, NZ now is what AUS must've been like in the early 2000s. They are a little slower paced, have more of a peace and nature mentality, whereas in AUS its more about beach and night life... so more fast paced. Just my experience.

It’s rather funny, but a friend and I were just having a conversation today where we reached the consensus that almost all of the best prog metalcore/deathcore coming out today seems to be coming from Australia.

I could list 200 Australian metal bands that I have listened to, but why bother... Hellbringer are my favorite Australian band for now. They sound much like Hell Awaits-era Slayer, so that’s good.

I've been listening to xThe Warx like crazy for about week now and this thread pops up, so I thought I'd mention it. They're from Australia.

I'm interested to know what Australian bands people from other countries have heard of and listen to? What are your thoughts? I've recently discovered King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard AND I'M Obsessed especially with mind fuzz album
