Reading the comments here, I'm almost ashamed to admit I got interested in PWD through their "Ire" album. đŸ˜¬đŸ˜¬đŸ˜¬ edit: whoops. GIF for ants. Like the bug or the movie?

I like it. I think its quite an organic evolution from Ire. Will it live up to KWAS or Horizons?! Probably not but I will take it.

I was ready for the worst song ever and that’s not what I got. However, I thought Ire was decent enough on a first listen too. I like that they avoided the cliche Wooooahh woooahhs from Ire, but that intro is just painful. It’s like Winston has been watching too many old westerns or something. It’s just super watered down and modernized Parkway. Overall, it’s like a very average-slightly above average song from Ire, which really does nothing to sway my opinion because there will certainly be songs worse than this on the new album.
Also to the Atlas haters, the first half of that record is far worse than the second half. Like a LOT worse. Second half of Atlas and especially the last song are actually pretty cool and still hold up. That first half is rough though.

It's a doozy of a track. Gotta admit the chorus of Slow Surrender can give me chills too if I'm in the right mood while listening to it. I think describing them as over the hill is probably pretty apt though.

I have a real bone to pick with all the music media websites describing this new single as "super heavy laced with breakdowns" So far I have yet to hear either. That riff at the end of the song was cool but nothing that would make me want to do anything more than Bang my head a little.
I also agree they are definitely over the hill now, I too didn't make it past Atlas. They are definitely in arena rock type band now and I completely understand that there's a lot of people that like that type of band and performance just not for me

There are definitely some sleepers on Atlas but yeah they kinda are. Its "hard" for me to write them off, as they were my favourite band for well over ten years but shoot I just checked my last.fm and I spinned Don't Close Your Eyes more than I did Ire.

I agree, I was such a loyal Parkway fan and it is hard to write them off as they are still the same guys and do genuinely seem like they're trying. It's just not very good anymore, but I still love their old shit so I know it's not like my taste has changed that drastically. I just think they've sorta burned out their creativity.
