Between the Buried and Me- Alaska Between the Buried and Me- The Silent Circus Between the Buried and Me- Colors Between the Buried and Me- The Great Misdirect Between the Buried and Me- The Parallax I and II Between the Buried and Me- Coma Ecliptic Between the Buried and Me- Automata I and II
I’ve only listened to this band for about two weeks now. Favorite albums of the bunch are Alaska, Colors, and The Great Misdirect, but I like the others too. I love how sloppy, yet controlled Silent Circus sounds at times, but the melodic bits sometimes reek too much of a younger time in metalcore and melodic hardcore of the early 2000’s which I don’t really get into anymore. Alaska is also one of my top 10 albums by any band of any style, and is also the only on said list with a weak closer track, which speaks to how amazing the rest of its content is to me.

Arise In Stability - The Future That Amnesiac Draws
Japanese prog metalcore with mathy tinges; I’m surprised at how good it is.

And here I thought maybe I was likely to be the only person in here to know of Arise in Stability. On the old version of tdm, I tried to post about them but never got any discussion going. Band is really good. I usually don’t like Japanese bands, but this one knocked it out of the park. My favorite track was the one “Blanks that Won’t Exist” if my memory is right about the title. It had a few very memorable transitions that just felt good.

A whole lot of Rex Orange County, Aaron West & The Roaring Twenties, The Wonder Years and, for comedy, Tiny Meat Gang

Really took me by surprise when they do kind of a “reverse” breakdown here, where instead of going down in the breakdown, the guitarists hit a point and then take it back up a half step/step, making it sound eerier.
