I bet if I really got into this album, pulled up some lyrics, and did some studying on it, I could learn a bit of Chinese that would be helpful for my day to day life here from this. I can speak quite a lot, but not nearly enough for what level I want to achieve. I plan to stay in China, after all. I’ll have to track this down. I find some level of interest in this band, even though I don’t care for much stuff that lies outside of metal. Thanks for sharing.

Search for it on one of the Chinese streaming apps like Wangyi Music or Xiami. They show the lyrics while the song plays.

Wow, that was the most surprising post in this thread for me so far. Never expected to hear a slam/brutal death metal band from China that actually sounded decent. This style is incredibly hit or miss for me, but this was quite alright, and even had a few legitimately cool riffs. Makes sense they’re not from Shanghai, since I still sense little to no metal community there so far (although I know it does exist, and it’s just not out in the obvious), but Tianjin was not where I expected these guys to come from. Oh well, cool share.

I heard this song so many times in the buses and in the mall in Kunshan and in Shanghai over the last several months. From the first time I heard it, I just deeply enjoyed it, if only for that highly addictive and well-written chorus. Great tune!

stringypoo ran across this vid and thought you’d maybe dig a bit; bands cover a wide range and there are a few bands that got mentioned in this thread previously, but I also thought you’d be interested because I noticed a band or two utilizing classical Chinese instrumentation, such as a guqin and erhu.

It was indeed an interesting video. There are a lot of bands here I didn't know before. One thing I felt from this video that was interesting is the level of importance placed on presentation. These bands, especially that last one Zuriaake, have interesting stage presence. It's funny living here and not feeling the presence of ANY Metal. I've yet to find a genuine metal fan here. It's so foreign to everyone I know here. Weird.
