I thought so, just keep in mind that the budget isn't as large as DS, so it's a little rough around the edges. Definitely playable, though, and I enjoyed my time with it. Ahhhh I've been burned so many times by developers making carbon copies of great games with half the budget and they just don't work. I wouldn't say it's a carbon copy tbh. It was obviously inspired by DS but it has enough of its own systems to stand on its own. Also Nioh is garbage. It's a 60-hour game that has already shown you all 6 of its enemy types before the first act is over and the bosses are so stupid and easy to cheese that they need to rely on cheap one-shots and stunlocks in order to be "difficult." Blows my mind that it has an 88 on Metacritic.

The only thing that makes you want to grind through a fuck off dungeon is that at the end there'll be some straight up nightmare fuel that you just have to see. If you can't have variety then there's really no point, it's the glue that holds the challenges of DS together.

Does look good, reviews have been ok also, Nioh was a great DS clone. That's interesting, I hadn't considered Nioh to be a DS clone. I might give it a shot, I remember liking the overall aesthetic. It has that familiar feel if you are a DS player, definitely stands on its own but you can feel the influence, great game regardless.

After creating a new character in DS2 I finally made some progress and beat the Ruin Sentinels and even the boss that comes after. I haven't felt so proud for a long time.

No mans wharf was the area that made me want to kill myself for some reason. The first time I played through that area I must have died a million times.

It was a total pain the first time, this time I finished it and only died once. Same goes with Heides tower of flame and the lost Bastille. Everything seems so much easier this time. I just reached the boss in Brightstone Cove Tseldora.

Awwwww man, its totally worth picking up fr. Bloodborne was my intro to From games and I've been hooked ever since I bought a PS4 for Nier and Bloodborne (after watching a bunch of videos for both) and I'm sad to say that I just can't get into Bloodborne. It's entirely to hard for a casual gamer such as myself. After a few hours I couldn't even get out of the beginning area. I know people will say "Git Gud" but it was just too frustrating for me. FS may simply not be my kind of games studio. The game does look fantastic though.

I'm back into this in a big way! First time in a souls game i have focused on a straight up 'quality build' and go on the offensive. From demon souls to DS 2 I would always build sorcerers or pyros that were psudo warriors. So much simpler this time round. Equip a big fucking sword and get into it.
