seems like theres a general lack of effort lately on their end and they've been heavily relying on collabs for what seems like a while now. that latest Thrasher collab was super disappointing in my opinion, especially compared to the past collabs the two brands have done together.
Also had a pretty bad experience at the store a couple years ago. Simply asked someone on staff if I could try on a t shirt & he literally snatched it out of my hand & said "you cant try on shirts" and threw it back on the rack. I understand it probably becomes frustrating working there given that its practically become a tourist attraction and I'm sure a lot of people don't purchase anything, but there has to be a line.

I wear some of the more understated tees but have a hard time buying any of the louder stuff, even if I like the design. I've had the three 6 mafia shirt sitting in my dresser for the past 5 years, decided to put it up on grailed because I just don't see myself wearing it.

The brand is ugly as fuck, always makes me think of British tabloid newspapers: 0/10 would not wear.

Was it the new york store? Everyone always complains about the staff there. The few times I was there and made a purchase is was smooth but I know tons of people who hate everything about that shop.

It was. Yeah from what i've read, my experience was not an anomaly.

I remember when only skaters pretty much wore surpreme. I was in hs from 04-08. I think around 06 they really started to blow up outside the skate community. I remember kids I went to school with would buy theirs stuff wear it for like a week then flip it for double the value. Hs was the hypebeast era.

Never understood whenever a brand gets big, that everyone that was fans of them before they blew up always turn there head. Maybe an inner hipster thing going on. Same thing with Diamond too. If someone wants to spend 100 bucks on a white n red box logo supreme hat go for it. I'll stick to whatever the fuck is on sale. Regardless of brand.

I don't think it's that, but very often when unknown brands/bands get big, their quality and style changes so it doesn't always appeal to the original crowd.

So on supreme, did anyone see the louis vuitton collab they did :/
I'm not sure how much LV appeals to the forum, I havent seen anyone really talking about high end clothing. But the prices are soooooooooooo ridiculous.
Retail on tshirt is £400, Coat is like £2000, wallet was like £800. So crazy. Dont get me started on resell, whos buying a £400 tshirt for £1000?
Theres expensive clothes and shoes, which i think I am in the realm of buying, then there is fucking stupid stuff like that.

Honestly I feel that was the time when I started caring less about sites like hypebeast and highsnobiety. I am not taking part in this street cred flaunting show

I am not taking part in this street cred flaunting show It was only a matter of time before streetwear and high fashion collided. It's become so mainstream that the super rich are getting into it. Interested to see how far it goes.
