Gotta go with my Orange County pride on this one and say the classic The Offspring records. Mostly SMASH and the self-titled. The band are such good dudes, still play a lot of hometown shows and I try to see them once every year, preferably with my old man.
One of the best punk videos of the 90's for sure
"Gotta Get Away" SMASH 1991

Just a list, no exact order. Some bands were founded in the 80's but still killed it in the 90's
- Death in June - Slowdive - My Bloody Valentine - Jawbreaker - Dinosaur Jr. - Sebadoh - Rage Against the Machine - Sonic Youth

All my favorite bands are mid to late 90's hardcore bands. This was the best era of hardcore in my opinion.

Alice in Chains is one of the most underrated grunge bands too, for sure. They were before a lot of them too so they are a little more metal at times which is cool for us hardcore lovers. Best records are Dirt, Facelift and The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, although that last one is recent and obviously doesn't have Layne Staley on vocals.
