Almost done with season 5, not sure how to feel about it. This Jane lady has to be up to something. Claire's 4th wall break was sort of unexpected and didn't add much to her character, found it to be an off move for the series. I've got 2 to go and I have to say S5 has been pretty underwhelming. Good start, rough middle, and its setting up for a big finish. Feels a bit like the formatting of The Walking Dead ???

I just wrapped it up and am still unsure of how to react to it. There is a big finish, but it didn't quite pay off for me. The election rigging and having Francis as a shadow president should have been much more intriguing than it ended up being. I think the last 2 seasons slowed down the pace and this one tried to pick it up again.

Finally finished Season 5, felt like a genuine slog in the end. I think it's gotten to a point where I don't really care about the plot twists in this show. The ending doesn't have me at all pumped for s5. We've been through the Frank vs Claire season already and they never really ironed out what drives either of them. Now that Claire has killed her play thing I'm not really sure why she's against Frank. Is it because she wants to be President and can't because of Frank? My favourite character is still Doug Stamper and that's because he's one weird bastard.

So Season 6 will be the last after all of this Kevin Spacey news coming out about his luring of young male actors in his past. Probably for the best given the way that show has been heading for the last couple of seasons.

I feel bad for everyone that is involved with the show outside of Kevin Spacey who will have to look for new work - since this dude couldn't keep his hands to himself. Side note: I haven't seen any House of Cards beyond the first season. Is it worth the work to get through to season 6?

If they make a final season then I'd say yeah, if they don't then I wouldn't bother. It's been building to a logical conclusion for 5 seasons. This firing has fucked the show up now though. I have no idea how they'll resolve it.
