There are only three suggestions I wanted to offer to this thread so it doesn't become become a place for spam.
1. If you're going to post about an artist, please drop us all a link so we can hear your favorite stuff.
2. Try not to post about more than one band/artist at a time. That way we can foster a healthy environment for discussions and recommendations in here.
3. No self-promotion. There's already a thread for that.
I want this so be a super fun thread to find new music for everyone (as the rest of this site pretty much is), so let's do this shit.

I'm going to recommend a band that came from where I grew up. Beaufort, South Carolina. They're pretty unknown to anyone not from the area. I went to high school with a few of these guys. We weren't friend per se but we did ride the same bus. They remind me a bit of Protest the Hero sometimes.

There was a metalcore band I loved called 'One Last Time'. They were around for a few years, released IIRC 3 EPs? for free, and even promoted themselves on the old TDM forum. I thought they were great, they were your typical metalcore sound but not too generic. However, their vocalist was fantastic. He could scream well, but his cleans were just so good. I wish they got bigger, more recognition but it's the unknown bands that always stand out to me. They used to have their newest EP on youtube, but can't find it anymore Here's some of my favorites:

Forty Fathoms. Probably never would have heard of them if not for TDM. They broke up at the end of last year but I like most of what they put out. These are some of my favorites

Supporting my local scene. They just released a new album and it's amazing. A more punk version of Parkway Drive for sure. curvasur.bandcamp.com/ Their debut album is for free so give them a try if you dig hardcore music in spanish.

One of my favorite records was Default - Beyond Our Means on Beer Cirty records back in the 90s. Criminally underrated hardcore band and record.

Did they break up? So sad, they were a good band. Probably the best hidden band what I know is Into the Ocean. They didn't break up officially so far, but nobody heard from them since 2013. If you are into experimental post-hardcore/electronica you need to check it. The next one is still active I believe. They call themselves Tight Lungs now, but they've run under the name Youth. FFO: Screamo/Emo Troubled coast was (dang, another amazing who disbanded) an american group. They mixed Post-Hardcore, Emo & Alternative Rock very well.
