I'm a native French speaker but I do understand Spanish and I can speak it a little. As for my English, I hope it's not that bad because my job is to teach it aha. I can recommend Duolinguo and memrise, good free apps. Also, if you want to rely on music, films and videogames, forget about the subtitles in your own language or it'll be no use. The best way is to speak, travel of course, and to listen ( radio, audiobooks... ) The internet is full of good resources and you can get a good level at a language just studying on your own. If some of you are interested in practising French, I'd be glad to open a French-speaking thread Since my french has gotten a bit rusty as well, can you recommend any good french podcasts or shows? A french-speaking thread would be cool! but I'm not sure whether there'd me more people contributing than just us hahaha? The subtitle thing is very important, I've been doing it ever since I started watching my series in English and it's helped me a lot. Most people (especially students I found) sadly don't think so though and will fight you to achieve getting subtitles in their native language haha.

What a great insult. etta-n-hoo-yah bleh. that's awesome! i like it a lot, too. another fun fact: "to turn someone down" roughly translates to "to give someone a watermelon" in russian. and in german it's "to give someone a basket".

Forgot to add this, but if I find the time I'd love to learn a basic level of an Asian and African language. Me too, but I'm a bit afraid of how hard that might be because of the missing connections to these languages

If you are to listen to French radio I can recommend France Inter and France culture that are mostly about culture and debates. I personally listen to RMC but they're more about news, politics and sports ; depends of what you like ! French shows suck, it's all about stupid games and reality TV. I just turn my TV on for news. I could recommend a few movies though. If you're still interested, you can try some canal + programms such as 'le grand journal' even if quality has faded over the years. Arte also broadcasts some quality shows from time to time ( also weird shit though ) but I recall that it's a German-French channel so you might know it !

Dutch, German and English.
I never watch a show/movie with subtitles. I want to brush up my French and Spanish though.

I speak American English and sarcasm quite fluently. Currently going to college for Mandarin Chinese and I want to pick up some Japanese and Korean.
