How do we abolish circle pits? No one likes them, bands always ask for them. I don't get it They look good from the stage so it will never end haha British people 110% can't circle pit, it's like a mystery to us. Baffled how bands haven't caught on to that yet. Whats the deal with human pyramids at gigs though? But yea i think standard goes, if you clip someone hard, apologise. Pick people up. Look where you're going. I personally believe in always trying to catch stage divers, but yea people seem to be stage diving well different now and kinda doesn't even involve actually landing on top of people anymore. Oh and while not a rule, just what i think a way to keep it a bit friendlier, if you're going hard with a few people in a pit just a little communication with each other between songs (a fist bump, slap on the back, check everyones alright, nothing huge just something ya know?) If by human pyramid you mean pile-up, I love them. Especially for Bury Your Dead. I completely agree about the communication thing. I always try to do something like that, also pulling someone out of the pit when they are obviously tired of being pushed back in.

I just can't work out what the point is, everyone seems to make a little pyramid, hold it for a bit then get down and dance or fall, its kinda like taking up space when people could be dancing haha

Mosh Pits are awesome! No elbows or fists swinging. Someone falls down, help them up! I guess it depends on the show you're at, but nobody has to get hurt in the pit for it to be a good time.

I'm talking about when people do things like that in the middle of a gig, seems to pop up alot up the North of England punk scene and i can't work out why

That's kind of annoying, something I would expect at a cheer camp, not a punk concert.

I hate people who mosh and they line themselves up to the edge of the pit and start throwing windmill punches. Like, what the fuck? You're just deliberately trying to punch someone in the face. I enjoy a mosh pit as I think it brings some excitement to the show. But I'll be damned if I'm not always the dude at the edge with my arms up with a cluster of women behind me hoping not to get hit. Especially in Chicago, a lot of the venues are small and filled to the brim and the pit usually opens up in the front to middle of the venue and the only hope of escaping it is by being in the very back where you can't hear or see shit. I think there are some things people need to keep in mind but seeing a pit open up and vibing off that energy when the people in it feel like they're apart of a community is great. It is just a shame that 95% of the time there is always a small group of people who want to be total assholes.

I just hate people who try to start push pits by themselves.

I personally dislik the push mosh thing, but I mean I like standing at the very front of the pit watching the band haha
The push mosh always seems to find its way to me. But there is also the crowd kill kids too. I still have a great time regardless.

It's really strange to think that moshing is so different depending on the state you're in and country!

well you'd think people know how to behave and how to respect others surrounding without intentionally hurting them but then there's people wearing steal-capped boots at code orange shows and it really makes you wonder
