To anyone/everyone going to see “Godzilla: King Of the Monsters” this weekend: your opinion is invalid until I’ve seen it. That is all.

I'm afraid that this film is going to have the same outcome as Pacific Rim, with a mediocre-to-bad follow-up.

Gotta say I wasn't all that impressed with King of the Monsters. Felt very typical of what to expect from a Hollywood blockbuster nowadays.
Does anyone on here subscribe to Mubi?
Just been doing some research on it. It's ideal if you want to see well regarded world cinema, you just don't really get to choose what you watch within a 30 day window unless what they're offering appeals

The subscription also includes a weekly free ticket to a selected film at the cinema, which is pretty cool. Planning to use it for Thunder Road later this week.

My local cinemas have got Tarantino, Kore-eda and Lynch seasons coming up. Looks like I’ll be spending my summer at the multiplex.

They do one-off screenings too. Particularly looking forward to Fellini’s Eight and a Half later this year.

Only the Fathom Events screenings at participating theatres do anything of the sort, with anniversary showings of pretty much nothing but American classics. Though, and tao will love this, they are showing many of the Ghibli films (what kind of a name is that?) this year. I might go see Spirited Away in October. None of the others are worth shelling out $15.
