Yeah I understand not creating a thread until Dec.; tbh I don't work through enough current albums to properly do a top 10 (I have sooooo much to catch up with in my iTunes!), so I thought I'd strike while the iron is hot. I still have 2 spots open on my list though......

I'm gonna have to add First Blood - Rules, Archspire - Relentless Mutilation, Kendrick Lamar - Damn I'm surprised that no one had mentioned Kendrick Lamar yet. That reminds me, I still have to listen to DAMN.

The Almanac by Kardashev. Just found about these guys last night and this album was blowing me away all day, I'm ready to peg it my album of the year after one day.

Amazing album front to back. I highly recommend it I haven't been disappointed by Kendrick yet. I have. By this one. A couple of already legendary songs, but as an album it's a huge letdown.

I'm not trying to sound too backpack, but it feels like it's a collection of songs. Good Kid Maad City (hands down) and To Pimp A Butterfly were much more cohesive, both great flowing albums with a huge theme. I'm missing it on this new album. It has grown a little on me, but far from as much as his previous albums.

But I think once you move past the idea that this is much less a concept album and take it for what it is - a really great collection of songs that work well together in ways other than being conceptual - that's when it starts to really bloom. But that's just my opinion
