Anyone have any suggestions for this? or a better idea of a theme? Not sure how active essien is with the Film Club now Do you have any remakes on your mind that you think are better than the original? Minus Invasion of the Body Snatchers lol Having watched Ringu yesterday, I'd argue the US remake was superior, but I watched that one so I'd rather avoid having to watch it again so soon. Having done a quick google there's a few they call out: The Thing from Another World (1951) / The Thing (1982) Diversion / Fatal Attraction (1987) La Totale (1991) / True Lies (1994) Ocean's Eleven (1960) / Ocean's Eleven (2001) Infernal Affairs (2002) / The Departed (2006) True Grit (1969) / True Grit (2010) The Fly (1958) / The Fly (1986) Scarface (1932) / Scarface (1983) Pete's Dragon (1977) / Pete's Dragon (2016) The Man Who Knew Too Much (1932) / The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) The Hitchcock one is probably the most appealing for me. I'm sure y'all would have seen the majority of the rest.

Could also do Sabrina, The Seven Samurai -> The Magnificent Seven, Yojimbo -> A Fistful of Dollars et al.

Tracking down the original Scarface might be tough. According to JustWatch -- www.justwatch.com/us/movie/scarface -- there seem to be multiple rental options. I would happily pay $3.99 to watch a Howard Hawks film. But yes the others are also movies I've always wanted to see.

we soldier on. I'd be down for the double feature of original vs remake. I actually almost did Infernal Affairs and The Departed back in March before everything got shut down

Okay, so are we picking that pair? I would enjoy that, please. Let’s go for it, then. Happy with this. Ill make some threads. I'm off work for a month so I've not been online as regularly as usual. Will sort it out next week. Let's assume deadlines are 2 weeks from now for Infernal and a month from now for Departed.
