Fellas, I'm in need of a good cry. Can we watch movies that'll make me ugly cry?

Are we watching The Work again then? Ha, we can stay away from documentaries if you like. It's hard to know when a film will make you cry if you haven't seen it before. I can't say I ever went into a movie knowing or feeling that. That said, there are certainly ones that have. The silliest by far is Rudy. Gets me every time.

I think the last one(s) to get me were Night and Fog and Come and See

I would love to see Night And Fog, and I'm definitely open to a documentary.
I guess what I had in mind would be more of a cathartic cry than the hell Come And See would bring on my soul again.

Ha, right, I don't want the "curl up into a ball and weep for humanity" kind of cry. Anyway, suggestions? Are we just going to wing it and try something we all haven't seen?

To be quite honest, nothing comes to mind in regards to a “cathartic cry” so I’ll go with people’s suggestions here.

Marriage Story was a bigtime "cathartic cry" for me, if you would like a personal example. Another documentary that is so rarely-seen that I had to add it to Letterboxd myself, Looks Like Laury, Sounds Like Laury, is the hardest I have ever cried watching a movie. It's on-demand here: vimeo.com/ondemand/laury

If you're a dog lover then Hachi was one I don't think I could handle again

Both of those sound dope. ROMA is the last time I think I wept at a movie. I'm game for whatever, though! Do we want to keep doing two at a time or go back to one per topic?

One is fine. We all seem to be busy this summer. We just need to agree on it.
