The Endless: I originally rated this higher after I watched it, but I've thought about it more since then and have come to the conclusion that it has better ideas than it has execution of said ideas. Maybe a little too ambitious for a film with a budget of this scale. 2.5/5 I think this film makes more sense if you've seen it's companion piece in "Resolution" first, however with that said, no film should have to rely on its source material to make it watchable on its own. I saw some mentions of that when I checked the reviews on LB. I might check it out eventually.

Oh lots of fun and some clever satire as well. Some political comedy and wit, and also some broad dark humour that was hilarious. (When all the people except one woman run into this trailer, and she's stuck outside with the monster barreling at her with nowhere to hide, and he just runs right into the trailer and devastates the group that thought they were safe... ha!) letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/the-host/

This should have earned way way more acclaim and recognition. Watch this underseen gem from Bong Joon-ho, like now! letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/mother-2009/Cry sad and happy tears along with this documentary about differently abled young Americans and how their lives change because of inclusion and open access to things formerly excluded and closed. You're one cynical motherfucker if this doesn't touch and move you. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/intelligent-lives/

At least, was it better than Terminator: Genisys?

At least, was it better than Terminator: Genisys? Yes but not by much. People calling this "EASILY the best Terminator since T2" have a very very low bar, and i'm not even sure i agree with that completely.

I remember seeing the last 20 minutes or so of Genisys, and I am fucking glad I never made the time to watch it.

One of the better reviewed horror films of 2019. Trash. 2.5/5 A rewatch. I just love the vibe of 90s/early 00s Japanese horror. This one didn't hit me like it did the first time I saw it but it's so atmospheric. 4/5 Sion Sono's Tag. He's fast becoming one of my favourite directors. Every film is just a crazy, unique, fun experience. 4/5 Ditto the above. 4/5

Two movies at the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival today. This is going to premiere on PBS later this year, or next, and you better see it. Easily one of the best documentaries of the year. Wow. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/midnight-traveler/Crowd-pleasing Spielbergian political thriller about two families escaping East Germany in a hot air balloon. It's exactly what you expected but not bad. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/balloon-2018/
