George Cukor's acclaimed adaptation is the first one i've seen (i'm going to see three of them in two days) for Little Women notable for Hepburn's sensational performance as Jo. A great Christmas film. I'll watch the beloved 1994 version tonight. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/little-women/

The 1994 version with Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon, and Christian Bale. FAR better than I thought it would be, very very pleased with how excellent this was. Perfect blend of serious and lighthearted. Can't wait for the new one tonight. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/little-women-1994/

I liked this a lot but not as much as the others I saw. Timothée Chalamet comes real close to ruining the film. He is just in his own little world here and has no idea what movie he's in. So strange. Distracting and bizarre and woefully miscast. Other than that, just lovely. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/little-women-2019/

Brilliant film with a sensational Alfre Woodard performance. Serious treatise on capital punishment in the vein of Kieslowski's A Short Film About Killing. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/clemency/

Finished listening to the audiobook of this and decided to watch the extended version again. Downloaded a fan made colour corrected edit since the officiall release has a hideous green tint throughout. Hard to believe this film came out almost 20 year ago. It still holds up perfectly. 4.5/5
A rewatch and the only Christmas movie I managed to watch this year. Had it on in the background while doing my wrapping. One of the classic slashers. 4/5
Tidying up the last few entries in my list of films to watch in 2019. This had a pretty by-the-book biopic feel to it, elevated by the performances of Daniel Day Lewis and Pete Postlethwaite. 3.5/5

Crushing drama about a woman who can't handle all the good she feels she must do for her family and friends and everyone until her own personal guilt becomes too much to bear. Incredible performance by Mary Kay Place. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/diane-2018/Deeply moving film from Peru about toxic masculinity and homophobia in an insular Quechua culture, seen by a quiet son of a local artisan of beautiful altarpieces. Gut punch of an ending. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/retablo/

Really clever and funny buddy comedy that spans over a decade in just an hour and a half, featuring some great editing and camerawork amidst a hilarious film about friendships transcending all life's events. Coming out next year, a bunch of you will really like this movie. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/the-climb-2019/

A really beautiful and superbly well-acted film that is about 20 minutes longer than it needed to be. Second good movie from Brazil though I've seen this year, and this one got a Spirit Award nomination. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/invisible-life/

Madcap comedy that turns to social satire and protest, a really interesting premise that doesn't hit all the marks but is wildly entertaining anyway. Good stuff. Milwaukee peeps, your city has one of the indie gems of the year. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/give-me-liberty-2019/

^^ I was surprised you hadn't seen it yet! It had a limited release but I'm sure was playing in Wisconsin. Drove up to Philly after half-day of work to see this: Just an amazing film series, literally six decades of documentary work following the same core group of people. Incredible every time. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/63-up/

Enjoyed this a lot. Not your usual Scorsese flick. 4/5
One of the best Westerns I've seen. 4.5/5
Can't say I liked it but I'm glad I've finally seen it, just so I have the context for so many famous songs. Some nice cinematography, particularly the alpine moutains. 3.5/5
I love found footage horror movies. This sticks pretty closely to the genre template but it had enough original elements to be a fun watch. 3/5
Trashy thriller that felt like an extended Black Mirror episode and kept me guessing until the end. Some shoddy acting. 3/5
Met my expectations. The story is well told, every frame looked stunning and the soundtrack was great. The pacing felt a little relentless and I wasn't totally on board with the casting of Chloe Moretz and Emma Watson, but it's a solid adaptation. 4/5
