... the casting of Chloe Moretz... Chloe Moretz is notably not in this movie! I'm assuming you mean the incomparable Florence Pugh? That’s hilarious, I thought she looked different and assumed it was just how she’d aged.

White girls be all lookin the same, na'mean? She's also 23 and dating Zach Braff, who is 44. So, there's that. First movie of 2020! Another film available to me thanks to Film Independent, this understated small-town drama is fine but really shows what Karen Allen can do four decades into her career. She's still tremendous. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/colewell/

^^ I was surprised you hadn't seen it yet! It had a limited release but I'm sure was playing in Wisconsin. Drove up to Philly after half-day of work to see this: Just an amazing film series, literally six decades of documentary work following the same core group of people. Incredible every time. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/63-up/It’s a distinct possibility it had a run in the annual Milwaukee Film Fest, but because I didn’t have the time or opportunity to check out what was playing, I didn’t pay attention to their slate of films.

Trying to catch the last Golden Globes nominees that I can get access to. This is pretty good! Heady, straightforward, exposition-heavy political thriller. That's my shit. But even this is quite dry. Still, I thought Annette Bening was excellent. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/the-report-2019/

CGI sucked, 70% of the jokes sucked, casting sucked (besides David Harbour as Hellboy). Since 11 isn't on Netflix and I wanted to actually watch that one I decided to give Twelve another go. 3 weeks later I finally finished the movie.

Hey this isn't bad, driven mostly by an excellent performance by Johnathan Pryce. But it's a mediocre screenplay and a lame redemptive arc that really didn't jive with me. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/the-two-popes/

Special theatre showing this weekend at an AMC north of Philly, this was tons of fun with great music and performances of course. Pretty standard doc, i don't think it's Oscar worthy. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/the-apollo/This doc was absolutely incredible and immediately in my top 3 of the year. It's about a Jewish/Israeli human rights lawyer who represents Palestinian political prisoners and freedom fighters against Israeli occupation. Astoundingly brave and fabulous film. letterboxd.com/v9733xa/film/advocate/

One of the sickest documentaries I've seen. Couldn't stop watching it and binged it and it made me feel super weird in the end.
