¡hola! which languages do you guys speak and how did you learn them?
i've been thinking about learning spanish for a while, but now that i have the time to actually do it, i'm not sure on how to best do so. the two foreign languages i speak at this point (english and french) i both learnt in school...
so, i'm very uncertain on how to learn a new language. is babbel.com an option or should i just go for oldschool buying books and writing vocabulary down on file cards? please share your experiences with me.

c#, c++, powershell, php, javascript, html loooooooooooooooool jk jk jk
the best way to learn a new language is to use it, watch tv shows/movies, maybe speak with someone who knows the language you want to learn.
A work collegue speaks russian and i've managed to pick up quite a few words just from conversation.

I can recommend Duolingo. Essien has been learning Spanish on his own for a while, he might be able to give some advice.
I know English and a bit of Polish (3-400 words). I learnt Polish by living in Poland and through memrise and Duolingo.

Disclaimer: They are all primarily swear words, and oh boy are there alot of variations. It gets quite colourful in my soundproof office. Maybe use duolingo instead of take my advice

I come from Hispanic descent, but English was my first language. I understand Spanish, but I'm not 100% in speaking it fluently myself.
My mom and dad mainly used English around me at home, but would get mad at me in Spanish lol (that's how I knew when they were actually pissed off). My grandmas will usually go back and forth between speaking Spanish and English whenever I visit them.

I fucked up in high school to learn a language, so sadly I know none. It doesn't help that I have a hispanic last name and can't speak a lick of it. I guess when I'm finally comfortable in life, I will start to learn a language and hopefully more. There's a few beautiful languages out there.

Spanish is my first language but I picked up english at a very young age thanks to my parents who purposely bought movies in english so I was forced to learn the language if I wanted to understand them.
Wanna learn french though.
