Alright alright. We have entered 2019 and I was wondering if any marshers are going to try new stuff or continue living their life like they did in 2018.
For me, I need to step out of my comfort zone and just try new stuff. Last couple of years everytime I wanted to do something but I always ended up not doing something because I might fail or suck at it. This year I'll just give it a go and see if it works out.
I also going to pick up working out again. Going to apply for a gym membership with one of my friends at a new gym which is around the corner for me.
Any new plans for you guys?

I'm not a firm believer in New Year's Resolutions but I have been trying to take small note of things I want to change for good. I want to drink more water, eat less sweets, and brush my cat more frequently. Really tiny things, but I feel like if I can try controlling those things I can live a better and longer life.
Outside of that there are small challenges I want to do, like make a dent in my video game backlog and get a puppy.

Wrote a really depressing Instagram post about how much 2018 sucked, and they deleted it because 2019 IS GONNA BE THE SHIT.
I think. I've got some good ideas how this year can be great for me.
1. Got a referral from a doctor to get a sleep study done because I haven't slept well in a decade. Both my parents' attitudes and health turned around when they got CPAP machines, so I may need one. Excited to get that call to schedule! 2. I've got 5 usable ideas for screenplays and I hope to have a draft written for at least one this year. 3. A big New Year's resolution for me is to just be a slut. I gotta get back out there, man. 4. Gonna go back to school in the Fall! I need that Bachelor's so I can get on the path to my career in social work.

These are all good posts so far, i gotta say.
I don't know if i can match them. I definitely need to get in better shape. I'll find a way to get motivated and this is the time i suppose.

I'm more of a goal setter type of person than a resolutions, so here are my goals:
- Run 360km / 225 miles - Boulder 3 V5/6C boulders - Toprope climb 3 6c+/5.11a routes - Prepare meal for the office each day in January to expand my kitchen skills - Read 10 books
I think these are the big ones for now. Might post later if a new one pops up. Great thread btw!

Much like Zeke, I have goals, but not really into resolutions.
-Pass the written driving test for Chinese Drivers License (since I already know how to drive, it’s the only test I have to take!) -Study and pass the Professional Knowledge Exam (Education related: will help me extend my 2 year teaching certificate to a 10 year cert.) -Redesign my music classroom, get more instruments, and design better lesson plans moving forward. -Prepare for parenthood. (Wife will likely give birth in June, and outside of teaching, I know little about raising kids, especially in China!) -Work harder to really learn Chinese on a more fluent level. (I’ve gotten lazy with my studies as I have a comfortable level, but my reading and writing is abysmal, and my vocabulary is smaller than I desire)
Geeze...this is all a lot of studying. As a school student, I hated studying and basically just didn’t. I find it hard to motivate myself to study because I work hard all the time and don’t do a lot of playing around. So...
-Work on better studying skills! -Practice violin a lot more!
Yeah, that’s about it!

Had these at the back of my mind but hadn't written them down: - Spend less time on my phone and improve my attention span. The new screen time tracker on iOS made me realise just how much time I waste on my phone and means I can track my progress. A Ted Talk I watched recently also made me realise how tech companies are using psychology to manipulate us, and I could see how their techniques have impacted some of my own habits. - Avoid negativity on social media/in the news. Kind of related to the previous point. I find myself getting outraged by a lot of the stuff I read on Twitter and in the right wing press. It's like a masochistic addiction to reading the views of people you disagree with. - Read 10 books. I managed seven last year. - Work my way through a list of 50 films that I've put together on Letterboxd. These are films I've been meaning to watch for ages but haven't, for one reason or another. - Improve my Spanish. I've been learning for the past 18 months through the Duo Lingo app. It's slow progress and I'm still a beginner, but I feel like I'm continuously improving. Zeke and I are going to Madrid in a couple of months which will be a good chance to hear it spoken. Good luck with all your resolutions/goals, marshers. Reptar especially.

I recently had to start drinking more water due to some kidney issues, so I can give some tips: - Get a Brita filter water jug to keep in the fridge. Cheaper than bottled water and tastes better than tap water. - Get a refillable bottle that you like and aim to drink one bottle full in the morning and one in the afternoon. I've tried out a few and the 750ml CamelBak Chute Mag is the best I've found. - Use a water tracking app. There's loads available that help you track your progress throughout the day with a couple of taps. I've been told to drink three litres a day and using an app helps me hit it most days. Pics of your cat, please.

My favorite water bottle is my 32oz Hydro Flask! It was super common in Arizona which prompted me to get one when Camelbak bottles mysteriously went out of fashion there. Its temperature keeping properties are fun to test. Haha

We bought a Brita filter ages ago, so I definitely know that is a fantastic way to encourage drinking water. It also helps having to lug a case of bottle water up three flights of stairs when you live in a third floor apartment. I had a good water bottle but I left it on the train one day and never saw it again. Is the CamelBak Chute Mag one that keeps the water cool for a long period of time? One thing I hate about water is it being warm. I'll have to look at some apps, that is a good idea that I had not thought of. I know pop is killer on my liver so it is one of the main reasons I want to drink more.

At this point I kind of suspect that essien is a Brita salesman because he also got me into it. It is a great product, I can vouch for it as well.

I know pop is killer on my liver so it is one of the main reasons I want to drink more. The ChuteMag is just a regular bottle but there’s just subtle design things that make it so good. The cap is magnetic, so there’s no effort keeping it out of the way while you want to drink. The whole top screws off making it really easy to fill and clean. And the spout is really smooth so it feels nice to drink from. Keeping the water cool isn’t really a problem for me since I’m in a colder climate and generally drink so quickly. Maybe stringy’s suggestion would be better for your needs.
