Does anyone have any experience with DI'ing and what kind of interface were you running it with? I have a simple set up because I've only been recording my own stuff for a couple months now and just learning about it all. Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface. I run that straight into my DAW (Reaper). The signal can be pretty hot sometimes, you can pick up a Behringer DI box for like $40 at JB that should sort that but otherwise it's perfectly fine to record with from my experience. The Interface only cost me like $140 from memory? You get a shitload of software with it too but it's just lite versions of pro tools (can't use third party VST's with it), abelton live 9 lite (impossible to use) and some equalizers, reverbs and delay shit. My set up atm is generally guitar > focusrite > reaper > tse808 (overdrive pedal) > the LePou ENGL amp sim > pulse impulse response loader with a heap of different cab impuleses. What kind of music do you write dude?

Here is what I have right now That's 6505+ Patriotic Limited Edition. I think like only 30 were put out. I have it going through an old 4x12 custom cabinet my dad got back in the 80s. I also just got a focusrite scarlett solo and an SM57 so I plan on starting to do some light recording again and maybe even some vocals. If you care to see, here I am actually playing my stuff. Audio was only recorded through my GoPro so it's not the best.

Nice cover man! My current set up is fender mustang 73 competition fender mustang american special - Swapped out the pups for some Orpheus Crunchbuckers Into a Laney VC30. I have a HiWatt T40 but its got issues, think the tubes are gone. Pedal board atm is: Boss Tuner > Fulltone OCD > Tym Seaweed > Tym Red Mud > Red Witch Medusa (Chorus) > TC Electronics Hall of Fame > OBNE Procession > OBNE Dark Star I've got a focusrite but I suck at using it, had massive issues with latency.

I've got a Mayones Setius 7 with an Ebony fretboard and Dimarzio D-Activator pickups, with an Engl Invader 100 head and a NOS 4x12 cab. The MAyones is a pretty good guitar, but it has some tuning problems... I've good a cheap Ibanez S-series 7 strings with Bareknuckles. In terms of 6 strings and I've got a Gibson LesPaul Studio from the beginning of the 2000's. Love its tone, you can basically play anything with that guitar. I'm looking to buy a LTD Viper 1000 Olympic white, love the shape and love ESP necks. I also want to buy a Strat or Tele because modern C Fender necks are so easy to play... I also want a JCM 800 or 900 (or 2000's since they are ridiculously cheap...)

Anyone here write shoegaze style and can recommend a good crate amp? Yea man, I do. Not exactly sure what you mean by 'crate amp', do you mean combo? You pretty much just need anything that has a nice clean tone, is loud as fuck and eats pedals, I'm using a Laney vc30 atm which I got for $400 AUD second hand, think they're usually $600. Its been pretty good, I blew the output transformer in it jamming last year and has since been replaced. Its louder and far more stable now. Roland JC-120's are pretty great by all accounts, almost bought one a few months ago, if I needed a combo for under $1,000 I'd get one second hand - www.roland.com/global/products/jc-120/There are stacks of other alternatives as I am sure you're aware, if I was going to spend over $1,000 I'd look at things like Fender Twin Reverbs or a Fender Bassman. Stick some fuzz, chorus and reverb in front of one of those and you should be golden.

Hey guys I got my hands on the JST Toneforge Jason Richardson plug in and so far I love it.. However whilst it sounds punchy and great in Drop D.. I cannot for the life of me get a heavy attacking tone when i go down to Drop B etc.. I'm an absolute novice when it comes to mixing and EQ so can anyone point me in the right direction to get a better tone out of for lower tunings?

It might be an EQ problem then. Maybe your low end is eating away some of your mids which would make your sound a bit muddier..? I don't know much about EQ, sorry man.
