I love that all of these bands are still going strong and coming out with new material, but what I think that people mean by "deathcore is dead" is that there aren't many newer bands hitting the scenes lately as far as deathcore is concerned. At least not that I've seen around my area in the Midwest, which is weird considering it was so big around here a few years ago. I wanna add to that in saying that no bands are coming out and trying to be different. Every band is either 1) an Aversion's Crown ripoff with fast drums and "technical" riffs aka moving back and forth between three frets while tremolo picking, 2) a "revolutionary blackened deathcore act," with fast drums and tremolo riffing between three frets except this time it's on the highest string, or 3) another band trying to recreate 10 Code. Then again maybe I'm just getting old and boring. Deathcore no muy bueno for the last couple years. Everything's already been done, everyone wants to be serious and impress their older brothers who play in Real Death Metal (TM) bands. Too much singing about paranoia and lack of sleep and anxiety. Needs more silly sound clips from movies and tv shows before the big break down hits. I totally agree. As much as I love and admire the serious bands for their talent, I equally love and admire silly bands that make me want to beat the shit out of someone in the pit.

2017 have been a great year for deathcore actually. Thy Art Is Murder coming back with CJ is by far the best news we could get right now. Great albums so far from bands like Discord Curse, Gatekeeper (now Widowmaker), Aversions Crown, Codeine King, Lorna Shore, I AM, Fist Thrower, Broadmoor, She Must Burn, Conjonctive, In Chasm Deep, Enterprise Earth, Shadow Of Intent, Slaughter To Prevail, Fear My Intentions, Oceano and Obscure Of Acacia.

I don't consider Emmure to be deathcore, always thought of them as a metalcore band, same as TAS. As for great deathcore, fuck, new Lorna Shore, Aversions Crown and re-recorded The New Reign are my top stuff RN. And I would recommend a sweet band from Japan I discovered around 2 months ago, saw this vid and immediately got their EP. Was totally about to name this band when I saw you beat me to it. Great minds think alike, I guess....

Deathcore has a saturation problem, and it is saturated with bands that are worse, mainly due to monotonous releases and productioncore, than their forebearers. A lot of bands listed in this thread stand light years about the rest. But saying that, these few are awesome (in the literal sense) bands to be sure.
I too do miss the sound of the earlier generations that has pretty much been buried and forgotten.

I'm not really enjoying these new deathcore releases. Nothing seems to stand out. Maybe I'm finally just getting tired of this genre or this new djenty or Thy Art inspired style just isn't my cup of tea. All though, All Shall Perish's The Price of Existence is still amazing all these years later. I guess my preferred style of deathcore is no longer being made. It's like everyone's just falling for a tight production this year.
What are some examples of top songs from these releases that everyone is jamming? Where's that song we'll be playing ten years later or the breakdown you can never forget and have to show someone in your car with the subs pumpin...
